Business Goals & Project Overview

Business Goals

Pifit aimed to disrupt the non-profit and retail sectors by creating a digital ecosystem that incentivizes positive shopping habits through a pay-it-forward model. The client needed a robust, scalable platform to manage complex reward workflows, automated prize draws, and cross-platform ad verification. Their primary goal was to bridge the gap between local retail engagement and charitable giving through automated, reliable software.

Project Overview

WebMob delivered a comprehensive, cross-platform mobile application built on React Native and a Laravel backend to serve as a centralized marketing and reward hub. By engineering a sophisticated state machine architecture and automated scheduling system, we enabled the client to manage dual-stream reward programs and complex prize lifecycles without manual intervention.

Challenges & Solutions

Challenges Faced and Conquered

The client faced significant operational hurdles in managing complex reward workflows and automated systems that threatened the reliability of their incentive programs.

The Challenge

Dual Workflow Management

The client struggled to manage concurrent Shop Local and Instant Cash Discount workflows, where network failures and race conditions frequently led to duplicate processing or incorrect reward calculations.

Our Solution

We implemented a state machine architecture with unique transaction IDs and distributed logs, ensuring that every reward event is isolated and recoverable even during system interruptions.

The Challenge

ICD Program Verification

Verifying that users completed video advertisements across diverse platforms was difficult, leaving the client vulnerable to manipulation and inaccurate reward distribution.

Our Solution

We developed a progressive checkpoint system with server-side validation, ensuring that reward distribution only occurs after verified completion of ad content across all device types.

The Challenge

Automated Draw Lifecycle

The client lacked a reliable way to manage weekly prize draws, leading to timing conflicts, manual overhead, and potential inconsistencies in winner selection and notification.

Our Solution

We engineered an automated scheduler that manages the entire draw lifecycle, from initiation to randomized winner selection, with built-in recovery protocols for unexpected interruptions.

  1. Shop Local Program

WebMob engineered a precise QR-based scanning system that tracks tiered purchase amounts. This enables the client to automatically issue reward points for qualifying transactions up to five hundred dollars.

  2. ICD Program

We built a robust ad-verification engine that validates video completion. This allows the client to offer instant cash discounts or charitable donations while maintaining strict control over reward distribution.

  3. Search Store

The team integrated GPS-based location services into the interface. This feature enables the client to display nearby affiliated stores, helping users discover local businesses based on their current geographic coordinates.

  4. Gift Cards

We developed a secure redemption module linked to the point system. This enables the client to offer a diverse catalog of gift cards that users can claim using their earned points.

  5. Coupon Bank

WebMob created a centralized repository for managing earned coupons. This enables the client to provide users with a clear overview of their discounts, swaps, and community-based charitable contributions.

  6. Coupon Swap

We implemented a peer-to-peer exchange mechanism within the community bucket. This enables the client to foster user engagement by allowing individuals to swap, request, and donate their earned coupons.

  7. Draws

The team built an automated eligibility engine that monitors Karma Points. This enables the client to run weekly lucky and vacation draws, ensuring fair and timely winner announcements every Friday.
